Hip issues

Ella started complaining about pain in her hip.  There is always something on her that is hurting, or sore, or bugging her, so I thought maybe it would pass quickly.  But when she started limping and crying, we called the Dr.

Trek took care of Ella for all of her broken bones, so she was excited to see him again.  She has a small crush.

Her AIIS tendon that attaches her spine to her hip is being worked extremely hard.  Right now the pain is caused by the level of dance she is at and a growth spurt (which causes the tendon to be extra tight) We were instructed how to treat the current pain (a lot of excercises and conditioning, heat and ice) and next time this happens we will be prepared.

School

Ella is rocking 5th grade!  It's only January and she has well over 200 reading points. She participated in her final Rock the Halls.  I am sad about this. She is not- I think she is ready for bigger and more "grown up" activities.  She got to run with one of her best friends, Hannah.

Parker has seen so many of these, he is ready to do his own!

We LOVE having play group with these rugrats.  We hosted another day with the letter "M"  Parker gets so excited every Wednesday to play with his friends.

Speech has beein going awesome.  He talks so much now and is getting better and better.  Parker has a routine when I drop him off at speech.  He runs to the door and has to hit all 3 wheelchair buttons for the doors.  Even if the doors are open.

Then we stop at the fishtank and he finds his family.  He finds the dad, the mom, the Ella and the Parker.
Then he RUNS to class.  And this is something I want to remember because it cracks me up.  Parker gets SO excited and is SO happy before and after class, that as he runs and turns and swirls in the hall, his little legs can't keep up and he biffs it.... ALL the time!!

The Alley Grandkids

Cutest kids around

And of course some outtakes to show it didn't go as smooth as it seems.

End of December

Codys family was here from Colorado for a couple of weeks for Chistmas.  So during the break we played a lot with them, including a swim party for the twins birthday.

Ella had a ton of sleepovers.  Either at our house or grandmas.

Getting ready for a New Years KISS

After 2 weeks of late nights, New years Eve did them in. They fell asleep under the table.

The festivies!

The preparation: countdown chains, crafts, santa, decorating, Christmas village, treats

One night we had an impromptu photo shoot.  No worry about outfits, or hair, or posing.  I just told the kids to smile.

Christmas Eve:  We went bowling with the Alleys.  Then we played some games, did some chimes and ate some food out our house.  The kids got new jammies later that night and left out some cookies for Santa.  They forgot the milk.  Both of them were so excited for Santa to come.

Christmas Morning:  Wow.  Parker and Ella have the best reactions to things.  Their faces say it all.

Christmas day afternoon:  We spent the afternoon with Alleys, everyone was there.  We had some yummy soup and treats and lots more presents.  Ella finally got her husky.

Christmas evening:  We spent the evening at the Bensons.  We got more presents, more yummy food and played more games.  No wonder we love this time of year!
