Ella is now obsessed with New York City and I don't blame her. Here is why:
Headed to NYC for Spring break 2019!
St Patricks Cathedral was beautiful! We went during a Catholic school graduation and caught their commencement speech. My mom lit a candle for family members that need an extra prayer. Then we hit Trump Tower for lunch and went to the Plaza Hotel. We took a break from the rain and went to the Manhatten Temple and Grand Central Station.
9.11
Memorial. This was one of my favorite place to visit. It was
surreal to be right at ground zero, to walk those same streets that people ran
through all those years ago. I felt so much peace as we stood at the
memorial pools- almost like those people were close by. We touched the
names of the victims and saw them as real people. We all cried.
Ella was not even born in 2001 and all she knows about this day is what she has
seen on TV and a little about what we have told her. The first thing you
see as you enter the museum are huge screens showing people from that
day. You hear their stories and you see their pain. Ella started
sobbing. For the first time ever, she finally realized what really happened
that day.

Whats NYC without Broadway!? We saw The Lion King and it was so amazing. 2.5 hours went by and Ella said "What? It cant be over, that was only 10 minutes long"
Iconic Empire State building. The view were great and it was FREEZING up there, lol.
Rockefeller Center
We hired a driver to take us through Central Park. He was from Italy and Ella fell in love. She gushed over his accent and how funny he was. The architecture around the park is beautiful. And of course Ella has to dance or tumble every place we visited.

Our first impression after landing in New York was that there were So.Many.Buildings and so many roads. Ella and I were already thoroughly impressed. But then we turned the corner and saw Times Square. WOW! Despite it being late at night, it seemed like daytime. I think both our jaws dropped. Thinking about it, theres not a lot of stuff to do in Times Square, but I could have spent hours there. Our hotel was right in the middle and so it was our first stop, our last stop, and in the middle of all other activities. So many people, so many lights, so much noise and it was awesome.
We walked halfway over the Brooklyn Bridge. Every time we see this bridge on any TV show now we get so excited!
The Vessel is a brand new place that Dustin found for us before our trip. We were some of the first people to walk to the top. I'll admit, I got a little weezy up there.
We loved the Statue of Liberty. We went up to the pedastle and saw an amazing view. This really is the symbol of NYC.
Ella had 4 food goals this trip. Pizza, hotdog from a street vendor, pretzel and Blacktap. We nailed them all.

We walked so dang much. In fact, thats all we did all day. It was actually exhausting afterwards, bur during the day we didnt mind until we sat down.
Saying goodbye was so hard. Ella first refused to leave the steps at Times Square and when she finally did, we all cried! I promised her we will make it back someday.
